Usavich was an animation which was aired on TV shows, recently it became "official Nico Nico Videos" by MTV.
There are no words, so I think it is easy to understand for non-Japanese speakers too :)
So here we go! (You have to log in to see the original)
Episode1 : meal time

Mac Donald's hamburger shop has a character "DONALD".
This is the actual commercials that were put on Japanese television.
The original is funny in itself, and users started to create Donald MAD videos.
There are 3,552 videos tagged Donald as of 08/10/09
This video that remixes Donald and Touhou music has 3 million views! "Saishu Kichiku Donald"

Usually I only post videos that are interesting/understandable to non-Japanese speakers, but this one is not- sorry!
I just wanted to introduce that NicoNicoDouga is even used for political videos :)
There were people uploading TVprograms of the Diet to NicoNicoDouga.
As people can comment on top of the videos, conversations started.
I think this was a good tendency. It is said that Japanese youngsters are generally not interested in politics- but when they watch the NicoNicoDouga videos of the politicians debating in the diet and start commenting as well as watching (listening) to other NicoNico users commenting, I think it deepens their understanding and start to think more about the issues.
Then the politicians started to create their channels on NicoNicoDouga.
Yuriko Koike of Liberal Democratic Party started her channel:
She has 17 videos and the one with the most view has 36,068 views.
Ichiro Ozawa of Democratic Party of Japan started his channel:
Kazuo Shii of Japan Communist Party started his channel as well.
He has 42 videos uploaded (although he just started this channel on 10/6), and the one that has the most PV has 15,873 views.
BTW and FYI, party support rate as of 9/26 is as follows.
(data source FNN/Sankei)
Liberal Democratic Party - 31.7%
Democratic Party of Japan - 25.9%
Japan Communist Party - 2.5%

I have introduced in this post about how Nico Nico users played around with AR toolkit and made Miku Dance. In those videos, Miku was on the table / indoors, and the location was not tracked.
PTAM(Parallel tracking and mapping) is a technology to connect AR (using hand-held camera) and simultaneous / visual localisation and mapping.
Georg Klein, a post-doctoral research assistant at Oxford (and David Murray) had been doing research on this.
Here you can see his website where he puts all the info including his presentation file at ISMAR 2007, source code, and videos.
